  1. The last couple of years we have had someone get in our car maybe 6 or 7 times.they have never taken anything even though we have cd`s,and change in plain sight! I would think any thief would take a handfull of change. Anyone else have this happen? we`ve learned to lock our car most of the time, but now and then we forget. linda

  2. We have frequently found change missing from the car. They never take cd’s, sunglasses, books ect., just the loose change.
I prefer leaving the doors unlocked.
I’d rather loose $1. in change than have a broken window.

  3. Just this past weekend (August 2) we had the spare change taken from our vehicle. It was my fault because I left the door unlocked and the drink holder open, completely advertising the change. It is just scary to know that someone walks through our neighborhood and openly invades our privacy. Hopefully they will stick to unlocked cars and not allow their desperation to start breaking windows.

  6. On 10/1 around 6:20am a truck was seen in cruising around our neighborhood.
I personally saw him three times. I live near the entrance of the triangle and saw him come into the neighborhood. He immediately slowed down upon entering, like he was looking for a house number.
He went around the block once, then off into another part of the neighborhood (I could still hear his truck), then back again. I think he stayed mostly on the east side of the triangle.
Here is a description, I wasn’t able to get the license plate number.

Late 80’s early 90’s Chevy Pickup Truck
Chrome grill guard (the kind that goes over the front lights)
    Lifted a couple inches
Maybe diesel or a modified engine (it rumbled)
Michigan plates (the one with the blue stripe)
I think it was silver and blue, but it was dark so I’m not positive about that.

If you happen to see him or anyone else cruising around like they are not suppose to be here, please post it so we can all be aware.

    Thanks

  8. on 1/14 late or probably more likely at 1/15 early in the morning, sometime between 11pm and 7am. A car was broken into and an ipod video was stolen from within on the 500 block of Marquette Ave. The driver side window was smashed in. The car was parked in the street. Most cars were covered with snow at that time, however, this one was cleared off late that evening already by the owner.

Please report any suspicious activity that you might have seen around this time.

  10. In the past 4 months, one of our neighbor’s brother has experienced 2 car window smashing/thefts, Our neighbor experienced 2 car break ins and thefts, and a friend staying over has experienced 1 window smashing and theft all on Angela Blvd. A new neighbor just experienced 3 of their cars being broken into in their very own driveway no less!, 1 of which had the window smashed. My brother has recently saw a young adult perusing the neighborhood on a bicycle stopping and posting up staring at homes and vehicles. He did approach the person to ask if he could help him with something and the person continued to ride along. He also notified the police. Now I would say if this is a weekly occurrence, that the police should feel obligated to at the very least be monitoring our street, since a theft seems to occur weekly and overnight. Thanks for spreading the word.

  11. If you see something suspicious in the neighborhood but do not want to call 911 you can call the Police non-emergency number

    235-9201
    Anytime day or night.

For example, you can call this number if you have unwelcome door-to-door salesman- even on evenings and weekends !!
